250 Word Synopses Of Our Opening Sequence

The main protagonist is presumably doing his work on a Macbook Pro, however we later learn that he was in fact on a music piece of software. As he finishes on his laptop he decides to watch a Harry Potter movie, when his mother calls. The audience then understand that his mother is coming home late and he is not going to lock the door. However as all of these scenes are taking place, parallel editing is used to intercut the clips of the unknown killer preparing for his attack. As the protagonist is watching is face in the bathroom, he does not realise that the killer is standing outside the window and resultantly leaves the bathroom, unaware of the present danger. As there is a long shot of him getting into bed, it is clear that we are looking at him from the killer's perspective. When he turns of the light, the audience watches in anticipation as there is noises of shuffling and the door slamming. However the audience does not know whether the protagonist has been killed or not, because of the darkness and main title appearing.
