Preferred Reading Of Our Opening Sequence

Our aim in this project is two create the opening sequence of a horror/ thriller genre orientated film, using a chronological but twisted narrative. From this we intended to make an opening sequence that relates to our target audience, which are teenagers between the ages of 15 to 18.
Our main preferred reading of this opening sequence is, a message to the target audience making them aware of what their stereotypical image in the society around them. For example, teenagers in today’s society are being classed as people who are on the streets, who go to bed late, do things they are not meant to and disobey their parents. Due to different peoples interpretations of media texts, the preferred reading cannot be 100% right.
However the preferred reading of the target audience should be roughly what has been mention above, not a reading of teenagers being constantly reminded by their parents that they should be doing certain things, like going to bed or parents being too harsh towards them.
